African Art + Filmmaking Workshop
AFRISOS, in partnership with the Arete Arts Foundation, presents the African Art + Filmmaking Workshop—an exciting opportunity that will bring together 30 aspiring creatives and environmentalists to gather in Togo for a 3-day intensive storytelling film workshop. Nine of them will be West African filmmakers, and you can be one of them!
The participants will be organized into 9 storytelling triads that include one practicing artist, one talented filmmaker and one conservationist. Each team will work together for 3 days to produce a 90 second short film. The workshop will be led by the mentors Jigar Ganatra, Melody Sky, Richard Camp, Hugues Akpona and Jan van der Does. The finished films will be showcased in a mini film fest at the end of the workshop. The winning team stands a chance to win exciting prizes and a grant of $3,500.
The cohort will engage with Arete’s year-round efforts to spark dialogue about the environment and climate issues through art.
