For centuries, Indigenous knowledge has been passed down orally through songs and myths from one generation to the next. But today, with modernization and environmental changes, much of this knowledge is at risk of being lost forever. AFRISOS has been in partnership with the Hadzabe Indigenous community in Northern Tanzania for three years now, mentoring the youth in digital storytelling through photography and film, equipping them with the necessary skills to preserve and document their culture and stories for future generations. With so much talent coming from the community, we are setting up the Hadzabe Media Center, a dedicated space to bring together the Indigenous storytellers to create, record, and share their own stories through films and photography, but this project can’t be complete without your help.
